Program location: Tübingen-Berlin (Germany)

Program admision: Student will spend two weeks in vibrant Berlin learning about European politics,

followed by two weeks in the beautiful college town Tübingen focusing on human rights

in the European Union. Study trips to Strasbourg and relevant political institutions in Berlin

are an integral part of the program. All excursions, housing and the transfer from Berlin to

Tübingen will be included in the program fee.

Program period: June 15 - July 13, 2019

- European Integration and the Political System of the EU (June 15-29, 4 ECTS, syllabus)

The course will introduce the basics of the European Union and describe and explain the processes of

widening and deepening of this unique political entity. This will cover an overview of European Union

history, its evolution in economic and political terms as well as of its institutional structure and key

policies up until today.

- Human Rights in Europe: current issues and challenges (June 29-July 13, 4 ECTS, syllabus)

The supranational political system of the European Union today has the power to influence the

protection of human rights all over the world. This course will introduce students into the theory

and implementation of human rights and to EU politics to assess and protect them by significant

The program fee includes (1) Course-Fee for Part I+II in Berlin and Tübingen, (2) Class material, (3) Transfer from Berlin to Tübingen, (4) Accomodation in Berlin and Tübingen, (5) Excursions in Berlin and Tübingen (with day trip to Strasbourg), and (6) Tickets for public transport in Berlin and Tübingen.
