CAPABILITY AND INCORPORATION: PATHWAYS TO REDRESS IN THE AFTERMATH OF VIOLENCE

OSUN's project on Transnational Feminism, Solidarity, and Social Justice presents Poulami Roychowdhury discussing gender-based violence in India and the limitations of the current law enforcement response. Roychowdhury uses data to show how women are compelled to demonstrate "capability" when claiming their rights against violence. Join via Zoom.

OSUN INAUGURAL DISABILITY JUSTICE LECTURE WITH ANNA LAWSON

Anna Lawson, University of Leeds School of Law, will deliver the inaugural lecture for the OSUN Program on Disability, providing a macro-level overview of the international legal and human rights frameworks of disability justice and how the social model of disability has been reframed by people with disabilities.

Applications are now open for grants to juniors within OSUN to fund their 2022 Engaged Senior Projects. The microgrants support research projects that center on a problem emerging from a community engagement experience or are conducted in collaboration with a community partner. Learn more and apply.

HANNAH ARENDT HUMANITIES NETWORK IDEAS FORUM: WHY ANTISEMITISM NOW?

On August 15-16, OSUN's Hannah Arendt Humanities Network will inaugurate its Ideas Forum series at Bard College, bringing together students and faculty from across the OSUN community to engage in thoughtful conversation about some of the most important, and controversial, topics of the day. The first Ideas Forum will focus on the subject of antisemitism.

The OSUN Portal for new Network Collaborative Courses proposals is now open. "NCC's" are co-designed and taught simultaneously across partner institutions. While the courses bring students at different campuses together for discussions and online collaboration, students receive course credit at their own institution.  Learn more and submit.

The OSUN project on Rethinking Economic Policy to Address Inequality and Poverty invites abstracts for its Graduate Student Conference on Inequality and Poverty on May 31 – June 1, 2022 at CEU in Vienna. OSUN will sponsor the travel of up to 12 network students whose work shows particular merit.
