AL-QUDS CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM & INVISIBLE UNIVERSITY FOR UKRAINE AWARDED MACJANNET PRIZE FOR GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

The Civic Engagement Program at Al-Quds Bard College was selected as the first place winner of the 2024 MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship, with the Invisible University for Ukraine at Central European University in second place. The MacJannet Prize recognizes exceptional student community engagement initiatives and provides financial support for their ongoing public service efforts.  Read the article

RUSSIAN INDEPENDENT MEDIA ARCHIVE (RIMA) COURSE DEVELOPMENT FUND

Deadline to apply is Monday, October 28
The RIMA Course Development Fund offers four $2,000 (before tax) grants to faculty members integrating Russian Independent Media into their curricula. Fellows will have access to RIMA’s extensive resources and guidance from Bard College and PEN America to support their research on independent Russian journalism.  Learn more and apply

RUSSIAN INDEPENDENT MEDIA ARCHIVE (RIMA) SEMESTER SENIOR FELLOWSHIPS

Deadline to apply is Monday, October 28
Two fellowships, including a $6,000 stipend and a week-long visit to Bard College in New York, will be awarded to senior scholars and researchers who demonstrate a commitment to advancing research on independent Russian journalism and media. Fellows will also collaborate closely with PEN America and Bard College. Learn more and apply

RUSSIAN INDEPENDENT MEDIA ARCHIVE (RIMA) DOCTORAL VIRTUAL FELLOWSHIPS

Deadline to apply is Monday, October 28
Designed for MA and doctoral students, the Doctoral Virtual Fellowship provides five $3,500 stipends for graduate students who incorporate RIMA into their theses. Fellows will have access to RIMA’s extensive resources and expert guidance from Bard College and PEN America to support their research on independent Russian journalism. Learn more and apply

AFGHAN STUDENTS CONFERENCE

Deadline to register is Tuesday, November 5
The Afghan Students Conference, to be held online and at Bard College Annandale on November 16-17, gathers together Afghan student leaders who are committed to supporting their peers in Afghanistan and across the globe. Participants will present their projects and share challenges and resources.

APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR OHPA POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

Deadline to apply is Saturday, November 30
The Open Society Hub for the Politics of the Anthropocene invites applications for one-year-long Postdoctoral Research Fellowships. The Fellowships are full-time and residential (based at CEU in Vienna or Budapest) for a period of 12 months.
