FROM PAIN TO POWER: GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT FELLOW USES ARTS THERAPY TO HELP HEAL WAR TRAUMA OF CHILDREN IN PALESTINE AND LEBANON
In 2024, American University of Beirut student Haneen Jarrad launched her Shield project—a support initiative now benefiting more than 150 children in Lebanon and Palestine who have experienced the traumatic effects of war and occupation.  Jarrad writes about what motivated her to develop the program and her experience implementing it.

Students can register for OSUN Online Courses (OOCs) and receive credit for over 30 classes offered by OSUN member institutions across the globe. The courses aim to help students better understand parts of the world not previously available to them.

ECONOMIC DEMOCRACY INITIATIVE SUMMER WORKSHOP

Deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 15
The Economic Democracy Initiative welcomes undergraduate applications for its 2025 summer workshop for professional development in Money, Finance, and Public Policy. The workshop takes place at Bard College from June 16-20 and is open to highly motivated students interested in public policy or economics. Learn more and apply

APPLY FOR SPRING 2025 STAFF CERTIFICATE IN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 15
The OSUN Civic Engagement Initiative invites all OSUN staff to apply for the Spring 2025 Staff Certificate in Civic Engagement. This professional development opportunity involves a cohort meeting once a week for eight weeks. By the end of the course, participants will be able to design, implement, manage, and evaluate civic engagement programs in their university.

APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR MA IN GLOBAL STUDIES WITH PROGRAMS IN NEW YORK CITY AND VIENNA

Deadline to apply is Saturday, February 1
The one-year MA in Global Studies Program is currently accepting applications from students at OSUN institutions for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students can choose either or both of two degree programs: a full academic year in New York City or a collaborative Dual MA Program in Global Studies and International Relations with CEU in Vienna. Financial aid is available in the form of tuition fellowships and scholarships for related expenses.  Learn more and apply

APPLY TO SUMMER UNIVERSITY AT CEU

Deadline to apply is Friday, February 14
The CEU Summer University in Budapest and Vienna is accepting applications for its 2025 session. The program offers high-level, research- and policy-oriented interdisciplinary courses in residence in Budapest and Vienna from June 26 to July 25, 2025 and is open to advanced undergraduates, MA and Ph.D. students, postdoctoral and early-stage researchers, junior faculty, and practitioners. Learn more and apply
