[News] University of Tübingen Summer Schools 2019 (in campus deadline 3/22)
Program location: Tübingen (Germany)
Program admision: Students are taking a variety of introductory courses on Europe and the EU. In addition,
students debate on current European affairs and attend guest lectures by experts from
different fields. Classes are small and individual mentoring is guaranteed at all times.
Program period:
- Summer School I (May 20-June 15, 8 ECTS, syllabus)
(1) Module "Europe & the European Union" (6 ECTS credits)
Through an interdisciplinary variety of courses, workshops, lectures, and field trips, the participants will
have the opportunity to explore, further investigate, and discuss these basic European principles –
which can be seen as the cornerstones of more than 60 years of European Integration.
(2) Module "Language & Culture" (2 ECTS credits)
The Summer School includes three parallel German language courses on different proficiency levels.
Participation in the German language course is compulsory. The level of the language courses will depend on
student's needs. Each course will be taught by qualified instructors of the Department of German as a Foreign
Language and Intercultural Programs.
- Summer School II (July 15-August 24, 12 ECTS, syllabus)
(1) Module "Europe & the European Union" (8 ECTS credits)
This Module comprises academic courses taught by University of Tübingen faculty. The courses focus on political,
economic, historical, legal and cultural aspects of Europe and the European Union. It is possible that course
contents may vary slightly within reasonable extent.
(2) Module "Language & Culture" (4 ECTS credits)
The Summer School includes three parallel German language courses on proficiency levels A1-B2. Participation in
the German language course is compulsory. The level of the language courses will depend on student's needs.
Program fee:
Summer School I: 2,000 EUR (Early Bird: 1,600 EUR until January 31)
The program fee includes (1) courses, (2) course material, (3) 3-day stay at a guesthouse (full board), (4) 1-day excursion to Strasbourg (transfer, guided tours, entrance fees, 1 dinner), (5) 3-day excursion to Berlin (transfer, accommodation, guided tours, entrance fees, 1 dinner), (6) Accommodation in Tübingen, (7) Cultural and social activities, (8) Welcome and Graduation reception. Financial support is available.
Summer School II: 2,800 EUR (Early Bird: 2,400 EUR until February 28)
The program fee includes (1) courses, (2) course material, (3) 3-day stay at a guesthouse (full board), (4) 1-day excursion to Frankfurt (transfer, guided tours, entrance fees), (5) 1-day excursion to Strasbourg (transfer, guided tours, entrance fees, 1 dinner), (6) 3-day excursion to Berlin (transfer, accommodation, guided tours, entrance fees, 1 dinner), (7) Accommodation in Tübingen, (8) Cultural and social activities, (9) A public transportation ticket for use within Tübingen, (10) Welcome and graduation reception.
