EX ED HUB LAUNCHES PROGRAM ON STRATEGIC, INCLUSIVE MANAGEMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

How can current administration, management and leadership practices in higher education be improved to foster equality, diversity, and inclusion? What good practices exist and how can inter-institutional cooperation be fostered? The OSUN Executive Education Hub at Central European University recently launched an innovative and comprehensive program for university administrators that focuses on tackling those very issues. OSUN, CEU, the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities, and the Institute for Human Sciences welcome network members to a virtual memorial event for Yehuda Elkana, featuring a lecture by Helga Nowotny, Professor Emerita of Science and Technology Studies, ETH Zurich, entitled "In AI We Trust. Power, Illusion and Control of Predictive Algorithms"

PHUC TRAN BOOK TALK IN HONOR OF WORLD REFUGEE DAY

 

Friday, June 25, 5 PM NY | 11 PM Vienna

Author, educator, classicist, and tattooer Phuc Tran (Bard ’95) will give a virtual talk on June 25 in honor of World Refugee Day. Tran, who migrated from Vietnam with his family in 1975, is the author of acclaimed memoir, SIGH, GONE: A Misfit's Memoir of Great Books, Punk Rock, and The Fight To Fit In.

REGISTRATION CLOSES TODAY! The Center for Liberal Arts Pedagogy (CLASP) and the Global Debate Network invite faculty from across the network to join an online five-day Summer Institute on facilitating classroom debates.  Deadline to register is June 16.

ZAGROKA GOLUBOVIĆ ENGAGED RESEARCH AWARD 2021


The Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory is calling for applications for the annual Zagorka Golubović Early Career Engaged Research Award. The award is for original scientific articles in the social sciences and humanities published in the past year in Serbian or English. Deadline to apply is June 30.

OSUN and the Experimental Humanities Network call on artists working in digital-based mediums to submit their work for a multi-site new media art exhibition, emphasizing expression of personal experiences surrounding names and being named.

EHU SUMMER UNIVERSITY CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS

European Humanities University invites applications for participation in its Summer University on “Human Rights for Everyone: Restoring Justice. Case of Belarus." The Summer University will be held in online and offline formats August 8-14. Deadline to apply is July 10. Learn more and apply.

THREATENED SCHOLARS INTEGRATION INITIATIVE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Threatened Scholars Integration Initiative works with scholars seeking alternative teaching, research, or advanced study positions outside their home countries, due to threat from authoritarian regimes, persecution, or other risks, and places them in OSUN institutions. The Initiative also provides affiliation and support for those who cannot relocate. Learn more or contact TSI
