PARAMI UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, PRESIDENT, SPEAK TO BBC NEWS ABOUT EDUCATION DURING MYANMAR'S MILITARY COUP

Five students from Parami University recently spoke to BBC News about their struggles continuing higher education during the 2021 military coup in Myanmar and its aftermath. Parami University president Kyaw Moe Tun also explained how the US-accredited institution allows students to receive degrees, sustaining hope for themselves and the future of their country.  Read more and listen to the program.

CEU RESEARCHER RECEIVES ACADEMIC VALUES AWARD; DISCUSSES MULTIPLE DEFINITIONS OF ACADEMIC FREEDOM

Recent CEU Research Fellow Milica Popović and CEU alumna Elizaveta Potapova were honored with Fundamental Academic Values’ Awards from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for their outstanding research on academic freedom. They received their awards at a ceremony in Berlin this summer, hosted by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research.  Read more.

In collaboration with OSUN, Masters level students in the Fine Arts program at Bard College will offer two, 6-week online art workshops from Monday, October 9 - Friday, November 13. Projects and discussions will center on contemporary sound and visual art.

Applications are now open for faculty to propose OSUN courses for 2023-24. Proposals for Network Collaborative Course (NCCs) and OSUN Online Courses (OOCs) for Spring 2024 and for Academic Year 2024-2025 are being accepted. OOC applications are also being accepted for summer 2024.

OSUN graduate students can apply for research mobiity funding for periods of 3 - 8 weeks between February and July 2024 at other OSUN institutions. The mobility scheme is focused on North-South and South-South partnerships.  Learn more.
