Five students from Parami University recently spoke to BBC News about their struggles continuing higher education during the 2021 military coup in Myanmar and its aftermath. Parami University president Kyaw Moe Tun also explained how the US-accredited institution allows students to receive degrees, sustaining hope for themselves and the future of their country. Recent CEU Research Fellow Milica Popović and CEU alumna Elizaveta Potapova were honored with Fundamental Academic Values’ Awards from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for their outstanding research on academic freedom.
