The Semiconductor Scholarship (for Czech, Slovakian and Polish students)
The Semiconductor Scholarship is provided by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with five leading Taiwanese universities.
Qualifications:
(1)Master's and doctoral students (2) exchange students (junior or above) in the following programs:
- Electrical engineering
- Computer science and engineering
- Communications Engineering
- Mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering
- Photonics
- Materials and optoelectronic science
- Physics
- Chemistry
The Scholarship includes:
- Tuition grant (covering up to):
- NT$60,000 per semester — for exchange students paying tuition
- NT$120,000 per academic year — for master's and doctoral students
- Airfare: economy-class round-trip between Taiwan and the recipient’s home country (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, or Poland), with maximum reimbursement of NT$50,000 per one-way ticket
(Reimbursement is subject to actual expenses with official payment receipts. Additional charges such as seat selection, extra baggage, and other optional fees are not covered.) - Monthly stipend:
- NT$30,000 (≒ €880) — for exchange or master’s students
- NT$40,000 (≒ €1,175) — for doctoral students
Note:
- All reimbursements and payments are subject to availability of scholarship funds and require official payment receipts for processing.
Terms and Conditions:
- Eligible applicants must hold Czech, Slovakian, or Polish nationality.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled students who have completed at least two years of study at a recognized institution offering relevant academic programs.
- Applicants must not have previously enrolled in an equivalent degree program in Taiwan.
- Awardees must physically attend and complete semiconductor-related academic courses at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), meeting the minimum academic requirements. Exchange students are required to pass at least two relevant courses.
- Awardees must fully cooperate with all regulations and policies of NSYSU and the laws in Taiwan. NSYSU reserves the right to interpret and make final decisions on any matters not explicitly covered in these terms and conditions.
