Jonathan Becker, Vice Chancellor of OSUN, published an opinion piece in Liberal Education arguing that the sustained push for university “neutrality” during times of heightened political and social upheaval can ultimately harm education and society. He writes that in a moment when politicians and education leaders invoke neutrality as a justification to quell dissent, universities and colleges must stand by their values and commit to action that promotes democracy and engaged citizenship.
