DEEDS NOT WORDS: THE PUSH FOR UNIVERSITY "NEUTRALITY" HARMS EDUCATION AND SOCIETY

Jonathan Becker, Vice Chancellor of OSUN, published an opinion piece in Liberal Education arguing that the sustained push for university “neutrality” during times of heightened political and social upheaval can ultimately harm education and society. He writes that in a moment when politicians and education leaders invoke neutrality as a justification to quell dissent, universities and colleges must stand by their values and commit to action that promotes democracy and engaged citizenship.  Read the article.

OSUN is offering two OSUN Online Course summer sessions with over 30 classes focusing on a wide range of liberal arts and sciences topics. The first session starts on June 3 and the deadline to register is May 27. The second session starts on June 10 and the deadline to register is June 3.

The Dying to be Beautiful Conference, convening in December at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica, seeks submissions for presentations and workshops and the Caribbean Journal of Psychology seeks manuscripts on similar themes.
