"A BRIDGE OF UNDERSTANDING": GET ENGAGED 2024 CONNECTS STUDENTS & PREPARES THEM FOR ACTION

Forty-nine student leaders attended the 11th Get Engaged Student Action and Youth Leadership Conference in Berlin last week, hosted by Bard College Berlin and the Hertie School. The participants, hailing from 22 partner institutions representing 50 different countries, all agreed that the experience improved their ability to reflect, interrogate their own ideas, and absorb new ones.  Read more.

CENTER FOR LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES PEDAGOGY PUBLISHES FIRST ISSUE OF TEACHING & LEARNING JOURNAL

The  Institute for Writing and Thinking’s Center for Liberal Arts and Sciences Pedagogy (IWT CLASP) recently published the first issue of its IWT CLASP Journal: Studies in Student-Centered Teaching and Learning around the Globe. The Spring 2024 issue of this new annual publication features the work of the 2023 cohort of CLASP Fellows, reflecting on student-centered, writing-based teaching and learning at sites around the world.

An OSUN Online Course (OOC) is offered by a single faculty member, is taught fully online, and enrolls students from multiple OSUN campuses. A Network Collaborative Course (NCC) is created collaboratively by faculty across multiple OSUN campuses and taught in person on each of those campuses; students come together online and offline throughout the semester to work together on assignments and projects.

Deadline for manuscripts: Sunday, September 1
The Dying to be Beautiful Conference, convening December 6-8, 2024 at the University of the West Indies, Mona, in Jamaica, seeks submissions for presentations and workshops and the Caribbean Journal of Psychology seeks manuscripts on similar themes for publication.
