【Event Notification】2026 Overseas Chinese and Hong Kong/Macao Students Speech Contest
1. Purpose
To encourage overseas Chinese students and students from Hong Kong and Macao to develop confidence and stage presence, enhance their language proficiency and public speaking skills, and provide a platform for demonstrating their logical thinking, the Overseas Chinese Association will organize the 2026 University Overseas Compatriot Student Speech Contest.
2. Speech Topic
“How I Can Develop My Competitiveness in the Age of AI”
3. Competition Format
The competition consists of two stages: the Preliminary Round and the Final Round.
Preliminary Round:
Participants are required to record a 3-minute MP4 video. No self-introduction is required. The video must be submitted to the Overseas Chinese Association via email by 5:00 p.m. on September 24, 2026 (Thursday).

The email subject should be:
“[University] [Department] [Year] [Nationality/Region] Overseas Chinese/Hong Kong/Macao Student [Name] – Speech Contest Preliminary Round”
The organizer will conduct a preliminary selection, and the top 20 participants will advance to the Final Round.
Final Round:
The Final Round will be held on October 17, 2026 (Saturday) at DingXuan Hall, Dazhi, Taipei City.
4. Judging Criteria
Five judges will be appointed by the organizer. Participants will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Content: 40%
- Stage Presence and Demeanor: 25%
- Pronunciation and Expression: 20%
- Entertainment Value: 15%
5. Prizes
- First Prize: NT$20,000 + Certificate
- Second Prize: NT$16,000 + Certificate
- Third Prize: NT$12,000 + Certificate
- Fourth Prize: NT$8,000 + Certificate
- Fifth Prize: NT$6,000 + Certificate
- 15 Excellence Awards: NT$3,000 each + Certificate
- Participation Award: NT$800
The Participation Award is limited to participants whose preliminary-round videos meet the requirements, including covering the designated topic and having a duration of at least 2 minutes and 30 seconds, but who are not selected among the top 20 finalists.
