OSUN GLOBAL OBSERVATORY ON ACADEMIC FREEDOM CHOSEN BY COUNCIL OF EUROPE FOR HIGHER ED STUDY

⁠The Council of Europe announced that OSUN’s Global Observatory on Academic Freedom and partnering institution Central European University’s Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education were awarded a contract to study the relationship between the fundamental values of higher education and quality assurance. SOLVE CLIMATE BY 2030 PROJECT MEMBERS TO KICK OFF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES CONFERENCE

BOOK TALK BY AUTHOR, EDUCATOR, TATTOOER PHUC TRAN HONORS WORLD REFUGEE DAY

Author, educator, classicist, and tattooer Phuc Tran (Bard ’95) will give a virtual talk on June 25 in honor of World Refugee Day. Tran, who migrated from Vietnam with his family in 1975, is the author of acclaimed memoir, SIGH, GONE: A Misfit's Memoir of Great Books, Punk Rock, and The Fight To Fit In. Join via Zoom.

ENGAGED AND APPLIED PHILOSOPHY

The Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory is calling for papers for the 7th International Conference of the Group for Social Engagement Studies, taking place September 30 - October 2, 2021. The conference will explore the conceptual difference between applied and engaged philosophy, reflecting upon the role of philosophers in modern society.

The Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory is calling for applications for the annual Zagorka Golubović Early Career Engaged Research Award. The award is for original scientific articles in the social sciences and humanities published in the past year in Serbian or English. THREATENED SCHOLARS INTEGRATION INITIATIVE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Threatened Scholars Integration Initiative works with scholars seeking alternative teaching, research, or advanced study positions outside their home countries, due to threat from authoritarian regimes, persecution, or other risks, and places them in OSUN institutions.
