| Language Proficiency Requirement |
Applicants have to meet the language requirement corresponding to the class track they choose:

Minimum English proficiency:
- iBT-TOEFL of 72,
- IELTS of 5.5,
- Duolingo of 100
- TOEFL ITP Level 1 of 543 and Speaking Test of 58

Minimum Chinese proficiency:
- TOCFL score level 4,
- HSK score level 6

- Two (2) recommendation letters
- Autobiography in Chinese or English (Within 5,000 words. Including CV, motivation and research plan)
- Relevant materials that support the review (such as academic publications, documentaries, newspaper articles, etc., with links provided if available)
- Please submit English or/and Chinese proficiency certificate according to the track you choose

- Two (2) recommendation letters
- Autobiography in Chinese or English (Within 2,000 words. Please provide a statement for applying to the Institute of Political Science at National Sun Yat-sen University. The statement should also include your long-term research interests, intended areas of study, and future career plans. You may submit additional documents to support the reviewing committee's evaluation of your application)
- Curriculum vitae in Chinese or English
- Research plan in Chinese or English (Within 5,000 words. Please provide a detailed explanation of the areas and research methods in which you wish to specialize for research after entering our PhD program, as well as how closely they align with the research interests of the faculty at our institute. Furthermore, please elaborate on your chosen theme or topic within the field of political science, and the theoretical frameworks and literature you intend to delve into for in-depth research. When referencing literature, please provide a complete bibliography in addition to proper citations)
- Please submit English or/and Chinese proficiency certificate according to the track you choose
- Master thesis (Draft of the master’s thesis or equivalent works are acceptable if the master thesis is not available)
- Relevant materials that support the review (such as academic publications, documentaries, newspaper articles, etc., with links provided if available).
