2025 International Cultural Festival – Cultural & Food Market

Hey, students of NSYSU! The annual International Cultural Festival is approaching. Get ready to join this Grand event! This year, we’re excited to introduce both Food Booths and Cultural Immersion Booths for you to showcase global traditions and promote cultural exchange.

Event Details:

📅 Date: March 18–20, 2025 (Tuesday to Thursday)

Time: 11:0014:00

📍 Location: Bodhi Tree Square, NSYSU

Organizers: Overseas Compatriot Students Association and Office of International Affairs, NSYSU

🔍 Who Can Participate?

All NSYSU students--including Taiwanese students, overseas Chinese students, international degree & exchange students, and students from China and the Chinese language center, are welcome! External vendors are not allowed.

🏆 Awards and Prizes:

  • Best Dish Award: NT$4,000 (taxes apply)
  • Best Eco-Friendly Booth Design Award: NT$4,000 (taxes apply)
  • Best Cultural Immersion Award: NT$2,000 (taxes apply)

ONE winning team will be awarded per category. Details and evaluation criteria will be shared after selection.

Goal

Showcase unique dishes from different cultures and bring the flavors of the world to the NSYSU campus community.

Create interactive experience to explore different cultures through traditional games, costumes, and food & drinks.

Example

Booths are organized by country, not participants’ nationality.

For example, Taiwanese students can run a booth featuring “Korean Cuisine.”

🔸 Examples of Activities:

  1. Traditional Games: Share and teach games & entertainment from the past.  
  2. Traditional Costumes: Offer participants to try on traditional attire and learn its historical and cultural significance.
  3. DIY Food and Drinks: Guide participants in creating traditional foods or beverages.

Resources provided

Space, two power outlets (110V), three tables and chairs, and pre-event promotional support. Tens area available to booths located in the open courtyard area (location of booth is based on the order of payment).

Guidelines

  1. After registration is completed and confirmed, posters and descriptions (in English and Chinese) are to be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, for event promotion. Items include names, photos (of the dishes to be sold), prices, and portion sizes. Prices and portions should be reasonable. Specify whether dishes are vegetarian (vegan, lacto-ovo, or containing five spices) or non-vegetarian.
  2. No changes to food items after confirmation. Violation will result in the deduction of a partial deposit of NT$1,000.
  3. Mandatory: Use eco-friendly tableware. Plastic items (cups, lids, straws, containers) are prohibited. Violation will result in forfeiting the entire deposit.
  4. Gas stoves are allowed, but open flames are prohibited.
  5. Maintain booth cleanliness and safety. All food must be cooked, and all waste must be properly disposed of.
  6. High-power appliances are not allowed.
  7. Encouraged customers to rent eco-friendly tableware from the organizer.

  2. Photos and videos will be taken during the event for promotional purposes. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Please refrain from registration if you cannot fully cooperate.
