1. Definition of Overseas Exchange Student
The term ‘‘overseas exchange students’’ herein refers to the University’s students participating in an exchange program under a collaboration agreement or memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the University and a partner university.
2. Qualifications
Applicants shall meet the following requirements:
a) Applicants shall be a bachelor’s student from the first to the fourth year or a master’s student in their first or second year, excluding those extending their studies or enrolled in an in-service master’s program.
b) Language Proficiency Requirements: Applicants must providce either a Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at N5 level or above, or one of the following English proficiency test scores:
- TOEFL- iBT: 60 or above
- IELTS: 5.0 or above
- TOEIC: 600 or above
- Cambridge English Test: PTE 154 or above
- Duolingo English Test: 80 or above
- BESTEP (BEST Test of English Proficiency): listening and reading 170 or above
Note:
1. English Proficiency test scores must be from a test taken on or after September 1, 2023.
2. Applicants must also meet the specific language requirements of the exchange universities they apply to.
c) Applicants must have good academic grades and no record of misconduct.

Please upload your official transcript from NSYSU. - If you don't have NSYSU transcript, please upload the official transcript from your previous degree level or previous institution. For transcripts not issued by NSYSU, class ranking must be officially annotated by the previous institution in advance. - First- year master's studnets, regardless of whether you have a NSYSU transcript, must also upload your undergraduate transcript. |
