🌏 International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP)

 

🎯 About the Program

IIPP aims to attract outstanding international talents to Taiwan by providing hands-on research internship opportunities. Through direct engagement with Taiwanese universities and research institutions, participants can gain in-depth insights into Taiwan’s research ecosystem and explore future academic or career pathways in Taiwan.

 

🧪 Internship Opportunities

  • Host institutions include Taiwanese universities, research institutes, and laboratories

  • Internship positions are offered by Principal Investigators (PIs) funded by NSTC research projects

  • Interns will participate in research activities under PI supervision and collaborate with local research teams

 

👤 Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be foreign nationals (excluding Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau)

  • Be enrolled in overseas higher education institutions (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD level)

  • Have academic or research backgrounds aligned with Taiwan’s key R&D areas

  • Demonstrate proficiency in English, Mandarin, or Taiwanese

 

📅 Program Timeline

Internship duration: 28 days -90 days

 

🧾 How to Apply

  • Applications are submitted online and reviewed on a rolling basis.

  • Applications will be reviewed through an online matching system. Hosting PIs will evaluate candidates based on academic background and research interests. Successful applicants will receive an official acceptance notice.

 

💰 Financial Support

  • Internship allowance: NT$30,000 per month, up to 3 months

  • PI operating expenses: up to NT$10,000 per intern
    (Maximum two interns per PI)
