Course
Course Selection
We offer a variety of courses to exchange students. Students should refer to the latest English-taught course lists and consult with their home universities to make their study plans in advance.
There are 5 course selection phases for exchange students to choose and adjust courses:
- Preliminary Selection (II): available 1-2 weeks before the semester starts. Students have to choose the courses at their level online.
- Add&Drop (I) & (II): allow students to choose courses outside of their study level. Undergraduate students can take master-level courses; A master-level student can take undergraduate and doctoral-level courses. Part of the restricted courses will be available during these phases.
- Exceptional Circumstances: allow students to choose some of the restricted courses or courses that are already full (paper form application). Note that students have to attend the class from the beginning and ask for approval to follow the course and add it later with the course lecturer.
- Withdrawal: Usually happens after the mid-term week. A “W” will be shown on the academic transcript if successfully applied. The application procedures are similar to the Exceptional Circumstances. A student can only withdraw from a maximum of 2 courses at this stage.
Course Regulations for Exchange Students:
- Minimum credits to obtain: 3; Maximum credits to obtain: 25
- Exchange students can choose courses from different disciplines and study levels.
- Part of the course is only open to students who meet the course-taking requirements. Students who cannot meet the requirements can ask for the lecturers’ approval to register for the courses during Exceptional Circumstances.
*The above course guidelines are subject to change and may be adjusted by each department/institute.
