Work Permit
For international students who wish to work in Taiwan (either on campus or off campus), a valid work permit is required (online application).
With the exception of the winter and summer vacations, foreign students' sum of working hours shall not exceed 20 hours per week.
International students who work without a valid work permit will be fined NT$30,000 to NT$150,000 and may lose their residence eligibility and be deported.
Starting from August 28, 2024, the maximum validity period of a work permit is one year.
After paying the tuition fees for the first semester, please upload your passport, ARC, and student ID, along with the latest tuition fee e-receipt, to apply for a work permit online.
Students can apply for a work permit that is valid from October 1 of the current year until September 30 of the following year. The work permit cannot go beyond September 30.
If you take a leave of absence, withdraw from school, or graduate, your work permit will no longer be valid.
If your work permit is about to pass the expiration date, it is suggested to send out the new application 2~3 weeks earlier. For the new application, please remember to send out under the correct application type "work permit", NOT "work permit re-issue".
Work Permit: If it is your first time applying or your work permit is expired, please select this application type.
Work permit re-issue: If you lose your unexpired work permit, please select this application type.
